This store was something of a New York institution and unlike most store closings that pass unnoticed, this one garnered a long article in The New York Times.
In New York, the closings were low on bang, heavy on whimper, with no signs announcing the shuttering at either location.
“They priced themselves out of the market, it was hubris,” said Ms. Colasanti, who was a devotee of the flagship Balducci’s at Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village
